Dear Gamemasters, Senators and Tutors,
Welcome to the testserver for our new spring update! It will go online at about 6-7 pm CET and is open to all gamemasters and senators as well as to those tutors who have on duty for at least 2 months.
This testserver may surprise some of you; indeed, we did not plan to make an update before this summer. However, we listen to your feedback. Many of our players are disappointed with changes of our latest Christmas Update. That is why we decided to introduce a 3 updates per year system. Now we will introduce several balancing fine tune adjustments as well as other small improvements!
It is very important that you test as much and as thoroughly as you can. Please read the following instructions on how to join the test server and the testing agenda carefully. Report all bugs you find with ctrl + z in-game. Typical bugs include:
- Graphical errors (e.g. broken graphics, blue pixels, wrong automap colors)
- Map errors (e.g. broken ground textures, broken wall parts)
- Feature errors (e.g. item doesn't work like it is supposed to)
- Object errors (e.g. a takeable tree, walkable stone)
In cases of client crashes ("Tibia Error - Debug Assertion" ) please click "Send" in the "Error Report" dialog which appears when you start the client the next time after the crash happened. If possible please enter a comment in the appropriate field before clicking "Send" because any hint on what you did right before the crash will greatly help in fixing the reason for the crash.
Again there are Testserver Assistants in each town who will hand out money. As you remember from prevoius test servers, they give you 100k pocket money!
1. How to join the testserver
Just like in the winter, the client for this test server can only be downloaded here:

There is no need to make a copy of your regular Tibia, there is no "network options" dialog anymore and there are no automatic patches. Actually this test server client is handled as a different application ("Tibia Testserver" vs "Tibia". There even is no need to worry to "destroy" your regular Tibia client: the test server client will in no way interfere with your regular Tibia client (...and in case it would do please report that as a bug!).
The Windows installation script is pretty much self-explanatory, simply download it, run it and follow the on-screen instructions. Afterwards you should have an icon called "Tibia Testserver" on your desktop. Doubleclick that and log in.
The Linux package must be unpacked by yourself using the command "tar xfz tibiatestserver820.tgz". A new folder named "TibiaTestserver" will be created which contains the client and its supporting files. Switch to that folder, run the binary "Tibia" and log in.
Since the test server client is handled as a different application you neither have the configuration file (Tibia.cfg) nor the automap files (*.map) from your regular Tibia. If you want you could manually copy those files. The locations for the normal client can be found in the FAQ. For the test server client it's "TibiaTestserver" instead of "Tibia" under Windows and ".tibiatestserver" instead of ".tibia" under Linux. Just copy all files from the normal directory to the test server directory.
2. Areas
Since there are not only optical improvements, but also few completely changed structures, please take some time to visit some of the old areas and look for map bugs such as misplaced clips or non-working stairs or entrances. You will find great changes in the following places:
- Tiquanda jungle (look for 2 great caves with poisonous creatures: Tarantulas, Giant Spiders, Hydras and Serpent Spawns)
- Venore new Orc Fortress (similar to the original one)
- various new Dragon Lairs (north of Carlin, Hellsgate area, Dragon Hill south of Port Hope
- Frost Dragons spawn on Folda
- giant dragon hill north of Edron (wth new dragon types)
- ... and some well-hidden surprises!
3. Monsters
There are also some new monsters- check them for incorrect graphics, corpses or strange loot:
- hydra hatchling (585)
- vampire lord (1100)
- necromant initiate (370)
- sky dragon (1985)
- rock dragon (1645)
Please post everything notable that is NOT a clear bug (wrong effects, graphics etc) in the Balancing Feedback thread.
4. Vocation balancing
- strong and great mana potions will becomre more expensive
- we will introduce 3 new potions: ultimate health potion (giving -/+ 900 hitpoints, knights 130+ only)
, ultimate mana potion (giving -/+ 350 mana, mages 130+ only), holy potion (giving -/+ 450 hitpoints and -/+ 200 mana, paladins 130+ only)
- we have recalculated all skills: now you will see huge difference e.g beetwen 70 and 75 shielding. This will make training much more desirable, 20 level knight with skills 90/90 will kill a dragon faster than 50 level knight with skills 50/50.
5. Elements
- all weapons are enchantable as well as arrows, bolts (1 elemental gem will enchant bag- 800 of these), throwing stars, throwing knives, spears, royal spears (1 elemental gem will enchant 400 of these)
- 2 new elements will be available for use: death (black pearls, death shrines) and holy (paladins, holy shrines)
6. New spells
There will be some new spells:
KNIGHTS
- Fear (exeta far): LevelRequirement:80 ManaConsumption:200 (repels all monsters in area of 36 squares for 10 seconds)
PALADINS
- Sniper Rain (exori mas con): LevelRequirement:70 ManaConsumption:190 (~exori con on 36 squares)
- Double Shoot (exori gran con) : LevelRequirement:40 ManaConsumption:50 (two shoots at the same turn)
SORCERERS
- Ultimate Death Explosion (exevo gran mas mort): LevelRequirement:100 ManaConsumption: 1600 (similar to old UE, with Death Damage)
- Death Beam (exevo mort hur): LevelRequirement:50 ManaConsumption:350 (wave spell with death damage)
DRUIDS
- Massive Haste (utani mas hur)
- Massive Invisible (utana mas vid)
- Strong Mass Healing (exevo gran mas res- old Mass Healing will be exevo mas res): LevelRequirement:80 ManaConsumption:400 (stronger Mass Healing)
7. Experience sharing
For each monster you kill with experience sharing enabled, you will receive:
- 70% of total monster experience for 2 party members
- 50% of total monster experience for 3 party members
- 40% of total monster experience for 4 party members
- 30% of total monster experience for 5 party members and more
Note that experience sharing still works as it used to work.
8. Death penalty
Yes, we will change it!
Now for each death you will lose only 60% of experience needed for next level! Each blessing reduces it by 7%, and the promotion will give you additional 10% reduction. In total, you can lose only 15% of experience needed for next level.
Please note that skill loses will not be changed.
9. Lost connection.
We decided to reduce the time you stay online after your client lost the connection with the game server. Now your character will stay in Tibia only for 10 seconds more. This will make DDoS attacks less dangerous, as most of players can survive just 10 seconds.
NOTES:
- You are asked to go hunting as you normally would to test all of new features.
- Please give your feedback in the Feedback Thread
- Being on Test Server and a regular Server at the same time is forbidden.
- PVP must also be tested. Therefore, it is allowed, but you are asked to perform this only for test purposes and preferably with prior agreement of all contestants.

7. Experience sharing

Now for each death you will lose only 60% of experience needed for next level! Each blessing reduces it by 7%, and the promotion will give you additional 10% reduction. In total, you can lose only 15% of experience needed for next level.
Please note that skill loses will not be changed.
9. Lost connection.
We decided to reduce the time you stay online after your client lost the connection with the game server. Now your character will stay in Tibia only for 10 seconds more. This will make DDoS attacks less dangerous, as most of players can survive just 10 seconds.
